Gardens on Glenwood
In 2000, Grubb Ventures purchased a dozen or so outdated and vacant professional buildings just off Glenwood Avenue surrounded by mature, wooded areas, situated within walking distance of Glenwood Village, a friendly neighborhood shopping center.
And so began Gordon Grubb’s quest to build Raleigh’s first very high-end condominium project—a premier residential condominium community with unique garden and townhouse sytle condominiums.
Grubb Ventures engaged with Womack and Hampton, a well-known architectural firm from Dallas, Texas on the plans and Bovis Lend Lease, a leading general contractor.
While construction standards didn’t require it, Grubb chose to use 12” of post-tension concrete between floors, insuring no noise would be heard from residents living above or below. And while it wasn’t necessary, Grubb invested more than $1 million in the landscaping, which enhanced the site and created privacy for project neighbors.
The result: Today the Gardens on Glenwood is filled with 91 contented owners and resale values are among the highest in Wake County.
