Built Upon a Solid Foundation

Grubb Ventures LLC.

Gordon Grubb, Founder and President of Grubb Ventures, has a rich history in real estate development. His great-grandfather, Henry Clay Grubb, built North Carolina’s then tallest steel-beamed office building in Salisbury, NC in 1900. His grandfather, Arthur Thomason, a well-respected General Contractor, built schools, commercial buildings and the most upscale residential community in Lexington, NC

Grubb Ventures LLC.

Gordon’s father, Robert Grubb, formed Grubb Properties in 1963. Originally a developer of single family affordable housing, the business grew into a fully integrated real estate company encompassing development, construction, management, marketing and sales of residential, commercial and retail properties.

Gordon Grubb joined Grubb Properties in 1987 and worked closely with his father until his death in 1995. Under Gordon’s leadership as President, the company grew to oversee one of North Carolina’s largest privately held real estate portfolios. Gordon spearheaded a major recapitalization of the company with Invesco Realty Advisors in 1999. During this period, Grubb Properties earned recognition as The North Carolina Family Business of the Year from Duke University and the North Carolina Family Business Forum.

In 2002, Gordon formed Grubb Ventures focusing on the dynamic Research Triangle Region. He saw the potential for infill development, and a focus on improved land use and density closer to the city’s core, as opposed to the sprawling development in the suburbs. Using acute local knowledge and contacts, the company has acquired and developed or repositioned a substantial portfolio. Grubb Ventures is always searching for the highest and best use for potential developments and adaptive reuse projects while balancing fiscal viability with respect for high quality and architectural consistency with the surrounding neighborhoods. Grubb Ventures’ developments have established a proven track record of award winning, well embraced, thoughtfully planned residential, commercial and retail communities. With over $150 million in projects under construction, Grubb Ventures is a vital force in the Triangle Region.

Giving Back

Grubb Ventures is committed to serving the community in which we live. Outside of creating properties that improve our community and support integrating the wise use of resources, we believe in promoting outreach through donations of our time and resources to the industry in which we serve and the community around us.

NC Arts Initiative

One of the ways Grubb Ventures believes in serving the community around us is through purchasing original works or art created by North Carolina artists to display throughout our commercial and residential properties.

Grubb Ventures believes that integrating original art by NC artists into our community greatly enhances the quality of life for our residents, tenants, and customers.

Food Bank of Eastern & Central North Carolina

The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina was founded in 1980 as the Community Food Bank, the first food bank in the state. The Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina provided start-up funds prompted by its concern about an increasing problem of homelessness and hunger in Raleigh and its surrounding communities. Since its founding, the Food Bank has expanded services in an attempt to keep pace with a growing demand for emergency food, distributing more than 236 million pounds of food in the process.

Salvation Army’s Back to School Supply Drive

Millions of Americans live pay-check to pay-check each year. These are often hard-working parents, who simply cannot make ends meet and afford to purchase necessary items for their children at the beginning of the new school year. The Salvation Army of Wake County is working to solve this problem in our community. At the beginning of each school year, The Salvation Army of Wake County gives out filled book bags for children in grades K-12, thanks to volunteers who are willing to donate their time and resources.

Toys for Tots

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
